Location Modes Defined For Assets In Asset Manager
Each asset in Asset Manager uses the parameter Location Mode, which has 3 settings:
1. Locked location mode: A “Locked” location means that the asset will *IGNORE* all location rules in Asset Manager and stay showing in its Locked Location. When Locked location mode is selected, the Locked Location: field will appear, allowing the Locked Location to be set.
2. Normal location mode: This mode means that the asset will follow the location rules setup in Asset Manager as normal.
3. Asserted location mode: This mode is only used as a *last resort* for special circumstances when an asset is seen having a “bouncing between locations” behavior and *only after* troubleshooting (Troubleshooting for this involves, at minimum, checking both complex and trivial causes that could be physical installation-related, RFID-related, and/or within Asset Manager) that would be performed does not seem to remedy the behavior. This mode allows the user-defined “Conditional Location(s)” to show as the Expected Location, though the asset can still be in other locations (that are non-Conditional Locations and non-Expected Locations).
