Occasionally, issues arise in connecting Asset Manager to external LDAP systems, such as Active Directory. If issues persist after referring to the "Integrating with LDAP" section of the user guide (found here), try the below suggestions. These issues are generally a syntax or configuration issue. If the below suggestions don't resolve your issue(s), please email support with your question(s)/issue(s).
Active Directory (by default, Active Directory usually doesn't need much configuration beyond the defaults):
Novell eDirectory:
With Novell eDirectory, the important item(s) to note are that the User & Group ID attributes should be "entryDN" for the system to query properly.
OpenLDAP:
Often times OpenLDAP is not configured (and not by default) to use what is called the "memberof" overlay. To turn this on in your OpenLDAP system, refer to this user guide explaining how to do it: http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/overlays.html
