How to Access the M250 Reader Settings
There are 2 ways to access the M250 Reader settings:
Reader Configuration Utility
The Reader Configuration Utility, can be downloaded here:

Using the Reader Configuration Utility, you can connect to your reader in two ways:
If your computer does not recognize your reader, double-check your physical connections, and then make sure your computer has properly installed the device driver for the reader. If your PC does not recognize the reader, refer to the following KB article:

Web Browser
Using your web browser, you can connect in two ways:
In order to access the M250 Reader via your web browser, you must know either:
NOTE: You can only update firmware for your M250 Reader from either the Reader Configuration Utility or from within Asset Manager or Zone Manager. You cannot update the M250 Reader firmware from its web browser interface.
- The Reader Configuration Utility
- Any web browser.

- Directly to a PC or laptop using a standard USB cable.
- Via Ethernet connection over your LAN

Web Browser
Using your web browser, you can connect in two ways:
- Via Ethernet connection over your LAN
- Via Wi-Fi connection, but only if you have the Wi-Fi-enabled M250 Reader that has a third antenna on it.
In order to access the M250 Reader via your web browser, you must know either:
- The IP address of the Reader
- The name/address of the reader, which is a combination of the Default Host Name on the bottom of the Reader [e.g., rfcodeBE5AEB] and the LAN domain that the Reader is on.
Example: rfcodeBE5AEB.YourDomainHere.com
NOTE: You can only update firmware for your M250 Reader from either the Reader Configuration Utility or from within Asset Manager or Zone Manager. You cannot update the M250 Reader firmware from its web browser interface.
