How to Perform a Factory Reset on an M200 Reader

 

****PLEASE NOTE: This article is for reference only, since M200 readers have reached END-OF-LIFE and are no longer supported.****

To reset an M200 reader to factory new (default) condition, perform the following steps:

1. Flip the reader upside-down with the antennae facing upward and/or away from you.  
    
2. Use two very thin objects, e.g. unfolded paperclips, and press the reset buttons using the following sequence:
    

   a. Press and hold the bottom button.

    

   b. Without releasing the bottom button, press and hold the top button.

    

   c. Release the bottom button and then release the top button.

Note:  The two buttons are not in the same relative places on the bottom of the reader. The top button is closer to one of the reader’s “legs” (on the same side as the antennae), while the bottom button is next to one of the four screw holes (closer to the side with the Ethernet, power, and serial ports).
